conflicting worlds
Capi Wever is an internationally renowned facial plastic surgeon, with a background in philosophy. He started experimenting with photography at the age of 20.
He grew up in the unique family centred Island culture of Aruba, before the expansion into mass tourism.
In a compulsive need to travel with his children, he discovered the Indopacific in 2010, and has since visited its remote parts 15 times.
The explosion of tourism in his home versus the resilience of the Indopacific, triggered most of his photography. It’s a study of conflict - in the inner and external worlds.
Apart from his underwater photography, his work is purely analogue, mostly on Leica M6 and Mamiya 7ii.
